FOOD FOR THOUGHT:  The goal of the canine and feline species is to survive and thrive.  They do this by (1)procreating and (2) eating well.  Unlike nature where only the strong and healthy procreate, and unlike past generations who bred for function, we nowadays have started breeding dogs and cats for their looks (esp puppy mills), regardless of how fit they are for reproduction.  This focus on beauty has sprung deficient pets.  As for properly nourishing dogs and cats for their wellbeing, we have abandoned Mother Nature's science for human science and have fed our carnivore pets highly processed carb-laden foods driving already deficient pets deeper in poor health.
